Congrats to our 5th grade students as they transition from the elementary school to the middle school next year! Our annual, end-of -year clap out is a special event that our entire school takes part in. For the last time, the 5th grade students walk the hallways that are filled with younger classmen and parents cheering them on. These brief moments are filled with smiles and tears as they say goodbye to familiar faces and get ready to journey to new beginnings. They will be greatly missed but we wish them all the best!

To All Parents and Student Athletes,

   It is time to remind you all of Smithville's Youth Flag Football Program. I am once again asking for volunteers to coach our children. We were not able to find enough coaches last season. Some knowledge of the game is required for this, you don't have to be an expert. No children were turned away last year, but it was extremely difficult to make it through the season. Please feel free to contact me at epeters430@gmail.com if you have any interest in coaching or if you have any questions. 

   There will be some changes this year. I am going to try to get the forms posted online. We will have our "combine" on Saturday August 2nd. This is the day that all forms, and payments will be required if your child wishes to play. This will be a mandatory day for all of our coaches. We will have the combine, and pick teams. Shirts will be ordered, and a picture day scheduled. The date has been pushed up because of the schedule crunch waiting until mid month or later that just did not make sense any longer. This will give us more practice, and more time to get shirts/photographs. 

   Finally, I would like to inform you all that I will be stepping down as Commissioner of this Program after the season. If you are interested in taking the program over, please contact me ASAP. I would like to show the next person in line how things have been done, and help them make any changes they would like to see in the future. It has been a great time, and I consider it an honor to have coached your children.
